Stephen MacDonald joined the Whole Health Institute in May 2023 and currently serves as Chief Financial Officer. 

Steve has over 30 years of experience as a CFO in various industries including Health Care, Automotive, Financial Services, and Telecom. He also built and owned a CFO consulting practice and an engineering and training services company in the Automotive space. He is a versatile, operations-oriented finance executive, noted for his skill at identifying and addressing financial challenges while positioning organizations for continued growth. 

Prior to joining WHI, Steve led the financial turnaround of a large independent Academic Practice Plan in Washington D.C. After successfully returning the company to profitability, it was acquired by its university partner organization.

A graduate from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, he is an Ernst & Young alumnus and Certified Public Accountant. Steve and his wife of 25 years have two sons. He enjoys golfing, watching his kids play hockey, and being active with Children’s hospital charities.
