About this course

Taking Charge of My Life and Health Facilitator Training is a 24-hour training delivered over 3 weeks (two 4-hour trainings per week). In the first week, participants engage in an abbreviated experience of Taking Charge of My Life and Health (TCMLH). In the final two weeks, participants learn facilitation skills with multiple practice opportunities under the guidance of a mentor. The course is designed to equip Whole Health Facilitators with skills necessary to deliver and implement a 9-week TCMLH group. Facilitators may be peers who can relate to fellow peers, paraprofessionals, or persons who have professional health training.

As a result of this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Guide participants through the Reflection Tool in a small group setting.
  2. Utilize communication skills and strategies to facilitate the behavior change process.
  3. Develop steps towards implementing a TCMLH group.
